Our covid safety practices.

Your safety is of paramount importance to us.  We insisted that all of our cleaners and maintenance staff completed an online course called Covid 19 – Holiday Let Cleaning Course. It is run by Landlords’ Little Helper’s Cleaning School. We all completed and passed the covid safety practise course. Rob and Judith-Ann also completed and passed the course.

We signed up to Quality in Tourism ‘Safe clean and legal’ scheme in early July. And our procedures and cottage were inspected in July 2020 to make sure we are following correct procedures. We passed and received the award on 22nd July 2020. We were commended on our cleaning and safety practices.

Our award. Safe, clean and legal 2020

Our team here, carry out a very rigorous clean and disinfect of the whole of the cottage. All hard surfaces are first cleaned then disinfected, particularly frequent touch areas such as light switches, doors and handles. We remove cushions, books, games and DVDs after each stay and rotate with another set. Soft furnishings that can’t be removed are sanitised by steam cleaning or are sprayed with anti viral misting spray. Carpets are sprayed with anti viral mister. We wash on the hottest setting in the dishwasher; all glasses, crockery and cutlery. Throws and extra blankets are stored in sealed bags in a blanket box. Once a bag has been opened we wash them on the highest setting. All bedding, including mattress protectors and pillow protectors are washed on a long and 90C setting.

We make all of our risk assessments and cleaning procedures available for you to view,  if you would like to check them.

Initially, we signed up to ‘We’re Good to Go’ with Visit England but realised that they weren’t actually going out and inspecting holiday letting properties. We didn’t feel that the certificate meant anything at the time.
